Dr Thato Mabote is an Interventional Cardiologist with expertise in intracoronary imaging and physiological assessments to optimise percutaneous interventions. He takes a keen interest in cardiovascular risk assessment and future cardiovascular risk modification. He offers expertise in the optimal management of chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations and preventative cardiology. 

Dr Mabote read Medicine at Trinity College, Dublin, and trained in Cardiology at Leeds General Infirmary, a major interventional and structural heart disease centre in the United Kingdom. He holds a Doctorate in Medical Sciences for his research into ‘Novel Concepts for Non-Invasive Telemonitoring in Chronic Heart Failure’.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia, Dr Mabote undertook a further dedicated fellowship training in advanced percutaneous coronary interventions for two years at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. During that time, he also gained valuable experience in percutaneous valve therapies and other structural interventions.

Dr Mabote is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia, where he contributes to the development of future doctors. He also maintains an active interest in research. He has recently contributed as a sub-principal investigator for ILUMIEN IV (Optical Coherence Tomography) clinical trial and was involved in recruiting patients for the Onyx ONE (Optimal Treatment of High Bleeding Risk Patients) clinical trial.
